Precious Gifts

My two boys. My loves.
Mr. Wy's stye made me so sad this weekend. I'm amazed at the amount of love God can give mothers for their children. Thank you, Lord, for these precious gifts in the midst of a sinful world.

National Zoo

We've had a rough few days in our home. Not only did I get peed on before leaving work on Thursday morning, I got thrown up on 6 times that evening. The following evening was spent at Children's Hospital in the ER with Wy because of a stye that wasn't cooperating. Thankfully we are back on the mend and to celebrate, we went to the free National Zoo.
It was cold and we didn't see many animals, but it made me excited to go back in the spring after baby #2 is born.
Teaching Wy to hold my hand :)

Warm Winter

I think the Lord knew that our nanny from Florida couldn't handle a cold winter so he sent a few 50 degree + days. After spending 6 years of my life living in a ski town in Austria, I am thankful for this warm winter and so is Mr. Wy. (photos courtesy of our wonderful nanny)

Thankful

for friends...You know, the ones with whom you can really be honest. The ones you can share all your joys and pains and deep disappointments.
My 'brunch' friends are those type of friends. If you've followed my blog for a while you know about this group of incredible people. Everyone needs friends like them. We are all Christians so we get together about every 2 months and share about God's work in our lives. And then we pray.
This weekend 3 out of 4 couples were fighting. This weekend the moms shared about their exhaustion and how being a mom is not easy. (even with easy kids like Mr. Wy) I think we all needed a break! But it was good to have my feelings validated. To know I'm not alone in my struggles. And we laughed when we realized that 'this life' (the life we have now with children and a husband) was the life we longed to have when we were single. Now I'd just do anything to spend an hour at a coffee shop (by myself) or go to a movie.
And we ended the conversation by giving thanks. God has answered our prayers, we have incredible spouses, beautiful children, our health, our faith, and friendship. Thank you for your many blessings, Lord!
And look at how times have changed...these kiddos look so small here!

My Christmas Present

My incredible husband got me this lens for Christmas...
And instead of only getting pictures like this...
I've been able to get pictures like this...
And this...
Now if I only had another photography class...
Thank you honey. It's a great great gift.

Christmas in Kansas

This Christmas was spent in Wichita, Kansas with my husband's side of the family. Some highlights included:
1) Watching 3 movies at the movie theater (That's more than we'd seen all year)
2) Bringing Wy to one of those movies (The Muppets) and having him eat an entire medium sized popcorn on my lap.
3) Eating at an Indian buffet (because Tim's parents were out of town on Christmas day) for our Christmas meal! (and thank God it was delicious!)
4) Mr. Wy having a poopie diaper on the airplane and completely losing it on our laps during the last flight. (Maybe no nap had something to do with it)
5) Eating at my two favorites: Sonic and Braums.
6) Watching Mr. Wy play with his two young boy cousins.
7) And spending time with Tim's side of the family- who we only get to see twice a year.
Here's a couple of my favorite pics:
Wy's uncle was a college basketball player...
Mr. Wy is going through this phase where he keeps wanting to touch noses!
I learned a lot on this trip. Mainly that it's ok to travel with babies and kids over 4...but toddlers, no thank you. :) (Parents: Do you know what I'm talking about?!!) And that I love city life. I actually missed the city. More on that to come.
