What are you meditating on? I've been non-stop thinking about Fragile X. It's been a battle of the mind. This past week my boss spent time teaching on the subject of worry. He said in God's Word we have exceedingly great and precious promises. Meditating on those promises will reverse the process of worry. It's true and it works.
This past weekend I had some friends over to the house and we spent time in prayer for Weston. After our time of prayer, my friends wrote Bible verses for Weston (and for me to meditate on) and then taped them to the walls in his room.
They have been so helpful as I've been able to sit in his room quietly this week and meditate on God's precious promises. I'm trusting that the Lord, through His Word, will carry me through this time.

Full Term
I'm 37 weeks pregnant today. So thankful that we will have a full term baby Weston. My feelings about his arrival are all over the place, mainly because of the Fragile X and all of the unknowns...but I keep receiving Psalm 91 from friends:
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust."
"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."

And no makeup, but...this is my Mr. Wy. So so snuggly. What a blessing he is.

This Weekend We...
saw old dear friends...
learned to water plants..."Dad, am I doing this ok?"
and decorated Maynard with flowers.
Besides friends in town, we tried to get ready for Weston's arrival. Still much to do, but more has been accomplished. For those of you wondering, I only have 3 weeks and 2 days left until his due date.

30 and 92

are my X numbers! 30 is my healthy X and 92 is my unhealthy or 'fragile' X.
On Wednesday of this week I had a meeting with both my OBGYN and a genetic counselor. My normally stern faced OBGYN started to cry when I told her about fragile X in my family. She is a believer in Jesus Christ, she is praying. And on Wednesday morning, she was a comfort.
I've been amazed by the words so many of my good friends. Some have sent emails and kind words, some have shed tears over coffee, my pastors have laid hands on me at the altar of church and annointed me with oil, some Senate staffers have come to the Chaplain's office to pray. It's amazing how suffering can bring out so much good in humanity.
Christ created us to live within this community.
Romans 12:15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.
Thank you friends for walking on this hard road, full of unknowns, with our family.
Please pray that Weston will receive my healthy (30) X.

One Day at a Time
Mr. Wy caught a nasty cold on Thursday. It gave him a fever and the grumps. We were all sick last year on Easter so this year I was determined that the cold wouldn't take us out. I was determined that we'd make it to my parents to celebrate my mom's birthday and that Wy would experience his first Easter egg hunt.
And we did. We survived most of the weekend, that is until Sunday night when Mr. Wy turned into a toddler we'd never met. He was miserable and mother's instinct told me he had an ear infection. Sure enough, his doctor confirmed it on Monday.
Mr. Wy's cold almost took me out. Emotionally, that is.
I have a healthy boy and a cold was making me crazy.
So fears come up, what would I do with a special needs child who is 'supposed to' have the possibility of chronic ear infections? (Fragile X full mutation = plenty of ear infections)
These are fears based on things that might not even happen. My boss, the Chaplain of the Senate, often says that many of our fears never come true. They never happen.
So I try and focus my thoughts on Christ, who tells us that today has enough troubles of its own.
And then I make it through the day He has given me--one day at a time.
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34

Thank God for Easter
Tim and I have been so up and down lately. (since my test results came in)
I have nights when I've slept like a baby and I've had others where I've been waking up at all hours thinking about Weston and all the 'what ifs'.
Thank God for Easter. Thank God I got to celebrate Easter with my mom, dad, husband, and Wy. I'm thankful for the resurrection of my Lord and yes, I'm also thankful for chocolate, plastic eggs filled with candy, my husband taking my child hand in hand with his Easter basket to find Easter eggs, the beautiful Virginia countryside, my parents log home in West Virginia, popcorn, cotton candy, a moon bounce, and a hay ride.
The weather was perfect for the occasion too.
Thank God for Easter and thank God for a good distraction.
My Easter bunny.
Getting ready for the 3 and under egg hunt.
And he only got one egg :(
Easter egg hunt= one tired boy.
