Hand Foot and Mouth Disease

Does this look like a boy who has hand, foot, and mouth?!
This is a boy who does indeed have hand, foot, and mouth- but this is also a boy who spent the whole weekend with his dada. (I left for my mom's with Weston because the virus is so contagious) He didn't get a bath until I got home. (can you tell?)
I've been struggling here folks. It's been a rough 12 weeks. Yes, 12 weeks and I go back to work next week. We've had one thing after another, even though we had a great report about Fragile X. And I've been in despair- until this Sunday. God spoke to me through a sermon. The passage came from the end of 2 Cor Chapter 4.

7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 10 We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. 11 For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body. 12 So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.
13 It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.”[b] Since we have that same spirit of[c] faith, we also believe and therefore speak, 14 because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to himself. 15 All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.
16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

10 weeks of silence until 1 sermon last Sunday. Thank you Lord that in midst of struggle and despair, you speak- you encourage- you remind me to not lose heart.

Week To Recover

And guess what? I didn't. Not only did Weston get a virus and we ended up in the ER, I got another plugged duct. We are home now, and still trying to recover...

Blackberries

This was our first stop to Miller Market Orchard to pick berries this year. We missed the strawberries because Weston was too little so we were excited to get out in time for the blackberries. Right after we got home, Tim and mom went crazy cooking with them and made sweet corn and blackberry ice cream. Delish!!!
It was a hot morning here in Virginia and when I noticed Weston getting a heat rash just sitting in the shade, I took him to the car. I can't wait for both of these boys to get a little bit older so we can all enjoy the experience together. Having said that, it just seems like yesterday when I was sitting with baby Wy in the shade. Time goes so fast...
Here is the link to our time last year

Tired and Worn Down

Tired and worn down so I'm trying to recoup at my mom's this week.
One blessing about being at my mom's is being away from the city, and also going on dates with my husband. Yesterday we left the house for a grand total of 2 hours without the kids (this never happens) while we went into Winchester for some ice cream. I needed to reconnect with Tim and I also had fun taking pictures downtown. It's beautiful and reminds me of Europe. Enjoy!
